The Faculty of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) was established in 2011, making it one of the pioneer faculties at the university’s inception. Initially, it was part of a combined Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, but the two faculties were later separated to operate independently.

Since its establishment, the Faculty has grown to encompass nine departments, including Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Mass Communication, Library and Information Science, Criminology, Psychology, and Social Work. It has consistently focused on providing comprehensive education, conducting relevant research, and engaging in community service, aligning with the university’s motto of “Integrity, Innovation, and Excellence.”
